Flexable PVC and Plumbing
Any good?
I already have some laying around. I'm setting up a new tank and was wondering if I could use this stuff to plumb my lines to and from my sump. Also I have a mag drive 7; the male connector on it to send to water back to the tank (not sure of the terminology to describe that) is a threaded 1/2", I was wondering if I could use a reducer to take it up 1" because that is the diameter of my flexible pvc. Thanks for any comments. |

You can, but at a much reduced pressure... I have a Mag 7 using 1/2" PVC out of the sump to a threaded ball valve, then Out of the ball valve I have a 1/2 PLASTIC barb fitting going to 5/8 ID hose then to the outlet. My sump was an after thought and didn't get the tank drilled. When I upgrade to a 75 or a 120, I plan to have it drilled and all theat fun stuff!!!

On a 55 I the higher outlet pressure should help better with the flow... I am usuing my Mag 7 on a 29gal and have lots of flow up top and I use a couple MJ400's at the lower level, I may change to a couple MJ600's and use the 400's for salt and RO/DI.
