What are you doing for humidity and ambient temperature control?
I forgot to include that in my budget, and sheesh... quite expensive!

I was planning on putting an exhaust fan above the lights. And take it from there. Some fans on the sump and see how the temp are. I have the ac run in the house 24/7.

It all adds up quick...

The exhaust fan, fans blowing across the lights, and fans on the sump water do wonders. I still do that even though I have a chiller cause its way cheaper if the fans kick on rather than the chiller.

I really don’t want to get a chiller. Hopefully I can figure away around it. Time will tell. It might wind up being a diy project. I just want to take an easy with the electric bill.

Haha, I agree it's a nice build
But how did you spent 3 hours on a short (so far) thread?

Sorry Eric just caught up with your thread - great build. I have a GlassCages tank(280) and it has the black plastic trim also. Make sure you use the 3/4 foam or GC will not stand behind the tank. The only place I found it here in FL was at Lowes and it's a light blue. They had lots of it in Pinellas Co so hopefully you can find it down there.

damskim I need to get cracking.

I tried 2 home depots for the foam and found it at the one right by my house. I hope to get everyone over tomorrow to put it on the stand. Here are some pics of the foam.

I had to cut out area for the returns.

I put some tape on the foam hoping it will help it from shifting.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get some pics with it on the stand.....

Great idea to stabilize the foam with tape - both simple and, I'm sure, effective.

I figured it would slide a little. So I left an extra inch in front and 2 in the back. It worked ok.

The second Home Depot had it. It goes to show if you don’t find it one try another.

Here she is up on her stand. It was a tight fit. Next house I will make sure there is an extra inch on each side. It took 5 of us. We could have did it with 4 barely but 5 was better.

Here is my 75 I am going to drill. Since my dog was wanting attention I let him pose for this PIC.

I got a tile bit for my dremel. I am having second thoughts and might just buy a diamond hole saw bit. Anybody have any in put either way?

Ah, I just got that warm feeling in my chest looking at the tank in place. Can only imagine how you feel!

The dremel will work but take a LOT longer. If it's only one hole that might not matter. But the hole saws will be quicker and probably easier. If you want to go the hole saw route, check out www.thk.hk for them (he is the popular Lau that sells them on ebay too).
