I don't really have much, so im looking to get more colorfull stuff, but it is all about the hobby, I want to grow as much as posible for the next swap (BAR) and I heard about 2 frag swaps more in the Bay Area...

then I will be ordering 2 more frag tanks in the next few months...

1 more 48x48x12 for SPS only, and a smaller 36x16x10 for zoas, paly's, ricordeas and mushrooms

I currently have a 15gLong truevu that will be joining the frag tank above to house other stuff, it was my quarantine tank, but I don't need it, as i don't add anymore fish to my main tank, so it has been running empty for months.

so, any donations (frags) are welcome

IMO stay away from mushrooms, unless its really a rare color morph. They grow like weeds in regular tanks that they are readily available to all, and they would really screw up a frag tank in no time as they grow inside of the egg crate and start to smoother out everything else.

You have to quarantine corals too, so taking down your quarantine tank because your done with fish is bad reasoning. Ask anyone with AEFW, Red Bugs, etc. Anything wet, needs to be quarantined.

I agree. I wish I left my mushrooms in the sump! I HAD a nice large candy cane but some stupid mushrooms are growing in between the stalks and killing the heads. I have to keep pulling the CC out and scraping the mushrooms off, which is pretty tough when they just grow back and when they are out of the water, they shrivel up and it's like trying to cut snot with a knife.

Hehe... take your time. You don't want to rush in this hobby

Just frag the stuff from your main tank. There's some pretty nice looking pieces in there!

You can probably trade some of that for other stuff too.

The gsp and frogspawn tend to be popular for trades at LFS

That's a pretty cool frag tank, but as with anything in this hobby it is about quality and not quantity.

A quarentine tank is a must in my opinion for just about all corals coming.

I really wouldn't worry too much about gathering as much as you can but just take the time to grow out what you do have, and it looks pretty nice at that too.

I know it's taken me a few years to grow out some things for frag swaps. Enjoy what you have

I been wanting to trade the Big frogspawn, its killing my monti (I think is a monti) right above it, the lower plate only grows sideways, because the frogspawn is stingin it...

where do you say a LFS trades? I also have lots of GSP to trade, or to give to newbies
