Angry Clownfish jumped out...

Yes my small clown jumped out of the tank. Can someone recommend me what to do to prevent this from happening in the future.

sorry to hear that bro. since you have an open top i suggest you put some egg crate over it or there was supposed to be a group buy for the clear netting but haven't seen that yet.

so you have a canopy and he still got out?? man, that sucks even more!!

i'd keep a lookout for the group buy on the clear mesh. it's nice stuff.

is there another fish that was being agressive? Usually fish jump bc they are scared or something is terrorizing them. with the exception of wrasses.

i have seen people put some mesh in the back. i would definately check for reasons why he jumped out... check what fish you have and also try checking for stray voltage? all tanks should have a good ground...

cl2ysta1 there is no other fish that was being agressive towards him I only have or had 2 clowns, 1 hipo tang and 1 ywgoby.

faded1004 Im thinking of using a piece of eggcrate about 2''-3'' wide on the back and as for voltage everything its fine.

if you happen to get a chance, there is this kinda fine netting, like eggcrate, but it is flexible and clear... i have seen them on other peoples' tanks... but it would be easy to just install on to the back of your canopy? but i am sure the eggcrate is easy to form and install... anything would be good....

wow, your goby didn't jump? hahahhaa...

black screening in rolls at home depot, like you'd use to rescreen a sliding door. Works wonders! Also, if you have an overflow box, get a top made for it. I had a custom acrylic one made to go right over the top, and nothing can get in there but water. Keeps things safer, (no snails finding their way in there) and silences things a bit more as well too.
