Floyd,

Any thoughts on how to make a pump reverse itself? 1 works. 2 do not. See above.

Thanks!

i would do the wide flow mod. i noticed when i did it it reversed itself faster than with the big tube. maybe try it on one to see how it goes?

Your best bet is do the stopper mod, and glue the screen cap on after the stopper is put in.

One more piece of info, from the latest 6025 owners, the new nanos are silent from the start. Roger also indicated his sample 6055 was 100% silent running from the start.

This may be an indication Tunze has finally solved the loose shaft issue. Just in time I'd say, but only time will tell.

Meanwhile I am posting another picture to show my plan for the up coming 6055 just to keep folks all motivated

The 6025 has a 1.5" ABS coupler as the nozzle and a 6080 fish screen glued on.

No, the elusive 6025. I haven't been paying attention to the 6055s. Have they been hiding lately as well? Hehe..Sorry if I get your hopes up.

Thanks for the diagram but I think I still need a picture to know how to actually implement it. From the diagram it appears I have to cut the wire but I know it is not true.

Unplug the ps from the pump. Plug the banana-to-clip wire from the multimeter to the PS (+ve) lead. Then plug the other banana-to-clip wire to the (+ve) lead of the nanostream. Then use a clip-toclip wire and connect the (-ve) PS lead to the (-ve) lead on the nanostream.

And that's it.

If and when I get my 6055 I'll measure it also.

Now I can picture it, thank you. Can you give me an example of the kind of multimeter I can buy off Amazon and what accessories will I need to complete the test gear? Nothing fancy just something I can get quickly for plug and play.

burton14e7, if you think 6025 is elusive, then what is 6055?

I will probably get one next week. The owner of a well-connected dealer agreed to ship me one of his first batch. I did have to promise him not to reveal their info. to anyone, publicly or in private. I have been nagging at him for the last month I think he just wanted to be left alone

Yes, this meter should work. I guess it comes with clips, so you'll just need a clip-to-clip cable.

I have a 6045 that I am thinking of doing a wide flow mod one. I want to verify I got it right though. Just cut down the tub that sticks out of the ball? Does this lower the intensity of the flow as it makes it wider?

MY GOD THESE THINGS ARE TINY!

i guess measurements and pics next to small things like coke cans didnt prepare me for this...

normally people would be ****ed to pay $70 for something so tiny,,, now im wondering why i didnt buy like 4...

i got a used one from a local reefer for frags and my new one is coming saturday from phishy business...

I am excited to do the mods because the only way i can describe the flow is.... restricted... Mr. Pink Floyd - hats off to you for discovering this... Jacmyoung - thanks for taking it to the next level...

2650 gph in my 29 display - here i come!

I would have gone with a better meter but this one comes with cables that will make it simpler.

Spiffyguy, the answer to your questions are yes and yes, however you will lose the Tunze built-in stopper (crossbar). If you switch the pump on and off often it would be good to do the stopper mod too. But if you keep it on most all the time, the stopper is not necessary.

r00onmac, with 4x6025s, you will get 5,000gph after the mods and your 29g will be a blender, switched on

it will stay on all the time. I keep the fish grill thing on too. Not sure if that would act as a stopper. If not is it possible to shave off the front part, then remove enough of the tube and glue that front part back on? Would that maintain the stopper portion?

The fish grit should stop the prop from shooting out of pump, but will not act as a stopper to correct the spin since it can not stop the prop from spinning, but since your pump will stay one all the time, you can just manually correct the spin at startup by switching the pump on and off a few times. I plug my pump into a two-prong switch for that reason.

After the wide flow mod, the fish grit will be very hard to press into the nozzle, and once in due to tightness and stress can crack later. I suggested earlier to use a thin layer of black ABS glue on the rim of the nozzle then press the screen in to make sure it will never crack. You will not be able to remove the screen but there is no reason to.
