Salt... Table or Epsom?

Which do you guys use?

Totally Kidding!!! KIDDING!!
heck I even use ocean salt on my food.

I got a couple bags of reef crystals from my buddy and have been really happy with it so far. I know people can go on and on about which salt they think is best. I've even read the thread here that shows the chemistry of the different types of salt. It seems they like reef crystals a lot and I do as well, it really seems to evaporate fairly quickly.

What do you guys like to use?

I think I too use reef crystals. Dunno for sure as I buy a case of salt and that lasts me a several months.

Yeah and they do a group buy too if you can get an order of I think 10 buckets or more... obviously one person wouldn't want 10 buckets but it sounds like a pretty good group buy for the club if people are interested.

Ohh.. I do need more buckets... one can never have enough with this hobby. Hmmm... $15 a bag or is it loose in the bucket?

Thanks for keeping eyes out.

They sell the bucket with 3 bags in it I believe. We could of course ask any of the LFS if they get volume discount as well and could pass the savings onto us while them still making a little bit of profit.... I would much rather pay the same or close to the same price locally and support them if possible.

I don't use enough salt to justify buying a lot at one time but a bucket or two at a good price is hard to pass up... and those buckets certainly are helpful

I remember reading on the Dr. Foster smith section of the sponsors section here that they give club discounts as well as group discounts and I know a lot of groups use that discount..

Yeah me too... the small amount of possible additive you may need to add would be offset by the savings on the salt... if it was $30 a bucket I would do weekly waterchanges.

There are some local cut-throut pricing on salt in a few locations in CA. You have to justify the gas. I still tend to find the premium salts to be not too much difference. Plus, keep in mind that salt sales are one of the main dry goods that a LFS sells - kinda like toilet paper is to Costco.

Petsmart matches there online prices in the store is my trick. They somethimes talk about not being to do it in the future but I keep getting the deal and a lot of the time i get emailed $5 of 25. There is a shop in sac that has good prices on salt all of the time...... I think it was o street?

Ahhh we've got a thinker on our hands here. I often wondered if they would do that. I know all we have here as far as big boxes go is petco and i haven't ever had luck with them price matching online.

I'll have to remember that next time I roll through redding or Yuba City.

I got a bucket of reef crystals for Christmas! It came with a shirt in it as well... I don't know how I'm going to get to it though seeing as it's at the bottom of the bucket
