Lightbulb Powerhead Placement Advice

Good morning evereyone. I was curious to hear anyones adive on the best placement for a powerhead. I have a 16 gallon tank with about 20lbs of rock. Currently I have a RIO 800 pump and swell as a BakPak skimmer (which I might take out. Got it for free but am not sure if I need it)

I have been trying differeit be close to the nt placements but haven't found the best on yet. I have a bowed front tank which helps a bit with districuting the water a bit. Shoudl I point the powerhead there, should it be in the back...closer to the rocks or up at the top. Any advice would be very helpfule. And please be kind too. Thanks everyone.

I'd put in on one side and point it across the middle of tank to front corner. this way you'll get decent water movement across tank. I know bakpak skimmers get a lot of criticism but I ran one when I first started and I think running some form of protein skimmer beats not running any at all.

Very true on the skimmer. I think you are right about pointing it at the front of the tank. That way it will bounce off of the bowed front...I will give it a shot. Thanks for responding.

I agree, bakpaks arnt very good, but its better than nothing, and at least its adding some extra flow. As for the powerhead. I would point it so it reflects off the glass, and if you get another make it so thier streams cross paths. This will give you more random currents.

So multi-directional flow is good. Huh, I do have a smaller powerhead. Maybe I will give it a try.
