for the pump you have to figure out how much flow you want and the height from the sump into your tank. It is normally turning your tank volume over 10 times so a 120 needs a min. of 1200 gph but know the head height has to be figured out. The skimmer I allways bought one larger than I needed. I also have had good luck with the Korallia pumps very good flow I have 2 #4 in my 90gal.Also on the pump is your sump drilled or not if it is drilled you need a external pump if it is not drilled you need a submersible pump. I have had good luck with my mag drive pumps. This is my 2 cents and everyone has one . There is something to start from let me know if you need any help . Where are you located?

you will get a bunch of different opinions on this but try to run pumps external to reduce heat. buy a skimmer that over rated for the system, uv are a waste of time more so if you do stony's, alot of internal flow via powerheads and or closed loop, mh and vho's if doing higher light corals, no bioballs.

pumps: little giant's, iwaki's, blueline, panworld for returns.
closed loop:, sequence dart of snapper or larger
skimmer:, octopus, euroreef, myreefcreations, asm,
lights: try to go electronic, saves money, and i like the vho's due to the color pop on the corals.

good luck and pm me if you need more suggestions or questions.

again this is my opinion.

Lights and flow will depend on what corals and livestock you want to keep...can you share with us what animals you have now and what you want in the future? Congrats on the upgrade.

Go to Reefworks they have a 210g and 120g setups and ask Chris or one the guys there to let you look their set up from lights to sump, closed loops, skimmer etc. That will give some ideas.

I was just at Reefworks the other day when I stopped in after lunch. Their 210 and 120 tanks are really nice. Chris seemed very helpful and it is worth the trip to see those tanks.

Didn't you just set this tank up?
