feather dusters
i have a feather duster that is sort of like a worm per say. my brother has one that is in a stick like body.do they grow these bodies over time?he is sort of like just swimming around because i have crushed coral and i think it is to hard for him to get down in it.crushed coral not good for them?

It Could be your lighting or flow,Crushed coral is not the prob.

They perfer a rock corner under sand. But will do fine on top of the sand or crushed coral. They spin a cacoon like outlayer for protection and will pop in and out of this. But if he inst happy with water readings,flow, or food source he will search out a better spot. Also not sure but they like to form the outer layer under the sand.

They're filter feeders; the "feather duster" is a bunch of tentacle-like appendages that trap food. Feather dusters are worms that form little hard cocoons and filter feed from the end of them. If they don't like their spot, they may move. I have one who lives in a hole in the bottom of a piece of my live rock. He comes out when he's happy and filter feeds during the day. He hides if I get to close to him, though, since he's right by the edge of the glass.
