Question on facuet fitting for R/O unit
I am curently using the fitting that came with my python to fit my R/O to my sink. It's permanent since I do not use that sink. Questions is......it's a metal fitting, will it rust and cause more metals to enter my R/O ? Is there good solid plastic alternatives for faucet fittings......
Thx

You should be able to find a plastic fitting on one of the RC sponsors webpage ,I use www thefilterguys. You can go to forum jump and then to the filter guys and ask the?

It is on the raw water side, but I'd still replace it. For some reason I'd think that rust or any other metal corrosion would only cause the membrane and/or filters to wear prematurley. The ro/di I bought came with a plastic hose fitting.

Every piece of pipe and fitting from the water main to the faucet is metal? Why would one little coupling be a problem? If there is any corrosion it will be caught in the prefilter and not the membrane. Metal on the tap water side is fine, its only after RO and especially after RO/DI that it poses a problem. DI water is very agressive and will eat most metals very quickly.
