20 G internal overflow
I now have my 20 Gallon with internal overflow running finally. Took me a little while and some planning but here it is. The first pic shows the return spraybar in action (I drilled this on angles on purpose) before the tank was full and the second one shows the full tank and sump.

With the holes drilled at different angles you should be able to avoid dead spots. You have made a very clean looking set-up. Is the drain line also a 3/4" line? How much flow do you have?

Skip,
I should have popped this info into the other responce. I have 1/2" bulkheads on both sides. I am running a RIO 1700 as a return right now at about 3' of head. According to the Rio info, this should be somewhere over 300GPH. The flow is pretty good so I was excited by the spraybar effect. It should work out to aim the flow down the front of the rock work when I finally get some live rock in there. Once the rio decides to quit (like I have heard about many times on these forums), I will probably go to something like a MAG 7 and see how far back I need to throttle it so that the durso can keep up. |

Figured I would add a picture to the mix of the tank now that it has its supply of live rock in there.

If you go to a higher gph return pump LMK how much you have to throttle it back, I am quite interested in just how much flow the 1/2" bulkhead can handle. Skip

Ok, my tank is doing good so now its time for more pics. I changed the light from an old 10k to a nice new coralvue 10k. What a differance.

Great set up - very clean looking. I like the way you did your aquascaping to create that large cave in the center of the tank.

Sure,
This thread shows a little of what I did and gives a more detailed account http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...hreadid=551125 Since you allready have the tank you would probably have to have it drilled (or do it yourself with a dremel tool) if you wanted to get the overflow setup similar to mine. The sump has 3 baffles in it but it is harder to see the one on the left in the full picture. If you have any other questions, just let me know. |

Figured I would add a pic of my tank these days. This is the left side of my 20 Gallon:
