upgrading lighting?

whats the best way to upgrade from a 96w power quad to 150W 20K hqi lighting?

should i place the fixture as high up from my tank as i can then slowly lower it?

I would use the screen method. Buy a roll of window screen from a hardware store and place 3-4 sheets over the tank. take a layer off every 4-5 days. if you get black screen you may want to use less layers than if you use the silver. Also in case you have not seen it there was a thread on here on how to reverse the clamp on that light so that it will fit over your tank. I assuming that you are putting it over a 10 Gallon? If so you will need to find that thread. I had the same light over my 20GH tank and it hung way over the front.
