What kind? Red or clear? If clear, don't worry about them. If red, I hear that flatworm exit works good.

They are Red!

Will FE affect anything else in the tank?

I would not panic with these unless they are taking over your tank and making it look unsightly. They tend to bloom and subside without any intervention. Send some flow towards their preferred perch and see if that helps.

Flatworm looks very icky to me, so no flatworm in my tank. I've used Flatworm Exit by Salifert and worked effectively. Just make sure you siphon as much flatworm as you can before medicating your tank. The dying flatworm is toxic to your tank.

I had a huge Flatworm problem and used Flatworm exit. I haven't seen one since. Just make sure to have plenty of water to do a couple good water changes.

Me too! I was just about to use FW exit... again, I put in a mandarin and every day there are less and less. Now they are just about gone.

what type of mandarin are you guys using?

Is it guaranteed that they will eat flatworms? I don't think I have enough pods to keep one alive but if it would eat flatworms I could turn one into fat albert.

I have been putting off using my flatworm exit until I get my sump going (after my wedding in about two weeks).

I would love to get a mandarin and if he runs out of flatworms and won't eat prepared foods I could take it back to tha sto'.

Thanks guys,

I have had a Mandarin for about a year now.
He is very fat, but I guess there is just too many for him.

No guarentees, I never heard of it before, but I am seeing it happen in my tank. I think it is hit and miss, I also have lots of pods for him. IMO, trying to get predators to eat FW's is a mistake. IME, the best choice is FW exit.

is yours a green or target mandarin?

I have heard that the targets eat flatworms more often.
