soft shelled snails?
I've noticed some new hitchikers, only to be quite disturbed. They've been multiplying like crazy, and I haven't been able to get a beed on what they are. They look just like snails, but they have a soft shell. If you try to scoop one up in a net, they break into pieces. They are about 1/4 in size, and they stick to the glass like crazy when you try and net them off. I don't have a pic yet, but does anyone know what they are????

Look like this?
If so they are Stomatella. Good to have and breed like crazy. |

thanks, for bringing this thread back...And that's it. These break are pretty fragile? Seems like they rip apart when I try to net them. I didn't know much about snails, now I know what to research. Thanks...

Yeah,
They are pretty fragile but are good snails to have. |

When they start spawning, they make perfect coral food. You'll know when they're spawning, also. They start pumping up and down and smoking.

When I turn the lights on the tank in the morning, those snails are EVERYWHERE!!! I have been told they are harmless and actually good, so they can stay.
