oyster

hi. We have an oyster(I think!!) attached to live rock. Is it best to have the water flowing across his mouth or straight into his mouth?? How long should his mouth be open ? Is he happier if his mouth is open for longer periods of time or shorter?

I think it's hard to judge the condition of shellfish. Your best bet is to feed a lot of phytoplankton and hope for the best. I don't think they're easy to keep.
