I might have to rethink the 50 gallon tank. Perhaps a 100 gallon rubbermaid stocktank is more realistic...
If you charge everyone a few bucks, that will pay for it.

Nah - I'll figure something out. The main reason why this trade works so well is it's dirt cheap...

Oh - and yes I am a glutton for punishment.

Can I join in? I've got a 6 month old DSB seeded with 65lbs of live rock and about 4 cups of sand from a 2yr old 180g reef from a local fish guy.

Thanks,

-Maximo

When it is all done and everyone has their sand - you can order some of the resulting leftovers.... I'm putting a 50 lb bag of southdown as a base - so there should be a little left.

Yeah - but give me a week or so. My main PC (laptop) just died on me.

When the laptop is up and running, I would love to be put on the "buy some" list also. I have a new tank, and have only been on rc for a week, so I wouldn't be able to particapte in any other way!

I take one portion of leftovers if possible. I don't have any sand to contribute because well its fresh out of the bag argonite. Thanks for your generosity. Another idea could be to put a 100 pound sand base in a 100 gallon rubbermaid, if you can get enough people to commit to buy leftovers. Just an idea. Thanks again.

Looks like I'll have to pick one up at the TSC..

I am in again, did it last year. I had a relatively sterile sand bed w/ no worms, and only a few pods, thanks to James, this year I will be contributing sand from a tank teeming with:

Copepods
Amphipods
beneficial bristle worms (two types I have seen)
two types of mini-stars (all white and zebra striped)
and of course, all the wonderful microscopic stuff that really makes it all work.

Maybe some nerites in there as well.
