If we use paypal I think we should add the surcharge to our payment amount so James doesn't get stuck with a bill. I'm not 100% sure but I believe paypal charges it only on credit card payments, if you pay via your checking account I don't think they charge James for it. But paying via your checking account takes something like 5 days to clear vs credit card is immmediate.

Personally, I would prefer to cash 200 checks than have to try to match payment with package. We did paypal on the last one - and it was okay, but this trade is quite a bit bigger. Perhaps even twice as big...

Let's do check or cash.

Sorry James, my bad. Just going with what I/we did last time.

Russ

PS - Echecks through paypal also incur a charge to the receiver.

still open. Ship date is 02/07 You've got a few weeks to gather materials.

Bags, rubberbands, shipping boxes and flat rate envelopes...

shipping boxes and flat rate envelopes

I'm not sure what exactly I'm looking for in order to best package this. Does anyone have some pics they could post of the best/cheapest way to send the sand?

Also, were I work I we have tons of boxes that will work better then that VCR style box. Could I just use one of those, I just think it will be easier to cram in the envelope. Funny how the little things make us think.

sure. Whatever works for you.

Heck - the only thing I'm worried about for anyone is leaking. If it leaks - it will probably not make it in the trade. Do whatever you can to avoid the leak - if that means wrapping it in 10 bags - so be it.

On the way out - it will be done with the method I put forth - on the way in, it's really up to all of you to do the best you can.

I would LOVE to participate in this. I only have crushed coral for my bed at the moment, but am getting a new (and bigger) tank, and will probably be switching to sand. I'd love to send 4 cups (2 portions)

Also, I haven't been on this board for 90 days, but I have been here:

http://tropicalfish.site5.com/tfc/index.php

for almost a year, under the same user name. I didn't find out about this site until more recently. I hope this doesn't keep me from participating. Please let me know. I have been hoping to get in on something like this for a while.
Thanks,
Laura

Also- does anyone know why my Post count is only at one? It hasn't counted any of my other posts. :-(

Oh- Thought I'd add- if I haven't been here long enough to be approved, then I'd like to purchase 2 portions from you when it's all over - just let me know the price. I'll keep my eye out for your reply- looks like this thread will keep you busy.

:-)
