Setting up a seahorse tank
Just recently found this on the RC site. :-) I live in Campus, Illinois about 25 miles from dwight.......35 from Kankakee and within a hours drive from Joliet, Champaign, Bloomington. I am new to saltwater tanks, less than 1 year. I have 2 tanks currently running and am going to upgrade to a 90 gallon. We are going to go pick up the tank in a couple of weeks. I have the skimmer, lighting, new sand, plently of live rocks, so I think I am set for the 90 gallon. The fun part will be transfering everything from the 2 tanks to the 90 gallon.
I want to set up a seahorse tank. ..I have been doing alot of reading and think I am ready for this challange. Which one of the following tanks would be best for a seahorse tank...A 48 gallon bowfront or a 60 gallon tank? Whichever I don't use will be set up as a freshwater tank for my silver dollars. Does anyone know where I could get seahorses locally? I do not want dwarfs, but have not made up my mind for sure which of the other ones I want. I know I do not want really big ones.... Guess medium sized ones would be perfect!! :-) Does anyone have a SH tank set up...Advice would be appreciated. Thanks...... |

Send BennyZ a PM. He just setup a seahorse tank recently. He has reccomended a web site as well. There are a few around that have seahorse tanks. I think the last couple have ordered their livestock though.
