clown beatnig up anemome

hello,
I baught a red base sand anmone for my giant clown fish .I put it in my tank and my clown fish swam over to it and fitted in it o.k(anemone aout one and a half times the diameter of the clown fish). go out come back to find the cown fish beatiing it up and biting the base of the anemone buy this time the anemone is half the size. will the clown fish chill out?
