Everted crowns

I've got what look like some kind of zoa hitchhikers. From time to time the crowns turn completely inside out, i.e. they present a convex rather than a concave top.
Is this normal, or is it a sign of too much or too little of something?

So why, if they were irritated, would they open up more rather than close up?

OMG!!! This is pathetic.

Does anyone ever search for an answer around here?

I'm not going to post links. YOU NEED TO DO THE WORK HERE. Start looking through thread titles in this forum. There is one on the 2nd page and the 3rd page of this forum all talking about the same problem you are having!!!!

Thanks for the direction. One of the problems here is that there is so much info that it is difficult to know where to start your search.
Another is that there are a lot of bad mannered people posting.

Dont listen to him yes they do look a lil irritated is something close enough to them to touch or send out a stinger. And Kelleyjn if it bothers you so much then dont read it and you certainly dont need to comment

Ps. remember what your parents told you if you dont have anything nice to say then.... SHUT YOUR HOLE!

edwing......Because all he had to do was look around alittle. It's really simple. Do you think the mods enjoy having to read (moderate) all the repeat posts on RC? I'd much rather see people be self-sufficient and let the mods tend to their tanks or something else. They have lives too and they don't get paid to do this. Do you really think they enjoy reading 10 threads on zoapox or whatnot each day? Especially when it's in the stickies!!!!!

Hoodrat...... I'm a member of quite a few forums. In a few of them, if you repost questions like this one, you get the ban for a week. It's actually nice. You can find all the info you need in one thread, rather than 10 threads that are spread out all over the place and harder to find.

Great contribution by the way. He was already told they are irritated. Alot better than me telling him basically where to find the info he is looking for.

P.S. My favorite parental lesson is........ the next best thing to knowing an answer to a question, is knowing where and how to look to find the answer.

Nope, they are quite isolated. But I have now learned here that this behavior is not uncommon.
I realize that asking questions that have been recently answered can be annoying. I just plead ignorance,

I'm not gonna argue anymore, but it could have been said in a better way.

If you dont see the question that you are tryin to find then feel free to ask it. The only dumb question is the one not asked. And since kellyjn has all the answers in life and knows how to look them all up then maybe we can get ya to fix the search engine.....

Perhaps we should just take "woodworking" and "supplier" out of this occupation.

But that's just my opinion......

You're polyps are upset at something... mine get like that if I happen to flip the lights back on after they are shut off at night.

Okay, let's not sidetrack threads with arguments over whether a question should be asked or not. It was asked. Either answer it, or ignore it, but don't argue about it.

Agreed!

I would check your water parameters before you do anything.
Does every thing else look good? Mine started looking like that before they really went down hill. Finally after six weeks they are coming back to health.

A. I don't think it really bothers them...furthermore, I don't know if you've noticed, but the search function works about 5% of the time you try it.

B. Sounds like the worst forums I've ever heard of...the purpose of the forums here on RC is to help the new hobbyists, not to alienate them.

My large green palys do this too. I never noticed anything "bad" happening such as shrinking and melting. However, they are a bit closeto a few green striped mushrooms.

I am going to have to read up on this as well They are the only ones to do this out of all my zoas.
