Make It Stone Paint

Has anyone painted or considered painting this stuff on the bottom of an acrylic tank. It gives a slight texture which would be on the bootom and hopefully compensated by the foam under the tank. Any Opinions or experiences??

I don't know if I would recommend that. I don't know what chemical properties that kind of paint has, nor if they would leach back out in saltwater. On the other hand, I've seen various cement-bottom tanks, and these are successful.

So you want to pain the bottom of your tank underneath it?

Yes, I tried a peice of scrap and it looks good, plus I don't want to look at pink stryofoam under the tank, My main concern is the textiured bottom stressing the seams, I don't think it will because of the foam, but always good to get other opinions

I think once the textured bottom sits over foam, you'll be fine. Without the foam, I would be worried about it flaking in to the sump. I say go for it.
