Labout's Fairy Wrasse - WTB

Hey all, I'm contemplating getting another wrasse, and I was wondering what the going rate for these guys are. Is it wise to buy them from on online vendor, or are you better off purchasing them in the LFS. Thanx

Marc

heh

Finding one at a LFS is hard.. When I worked at HP, they were hard to come by (no local wholesalers carry them), and only way to get them is by making big orders...

Awesome fish, and Dr. Fosters&Smith seem to have a pretty decent guarantee on their fish, but no laboutis.. Personally, I like to see them in person, but, like I said, its hard to find. And when one does come in to a LFS, it usually wont last long till its sold...

Do you know how much these guys usually run?

I agree w/Dr. Fosters. I got my current carpenter wrassse from them and it's doing great. I wish they carried the labout's b/c that's where I would go.

If i can't find a labouts somewhere I'm probably going to get a Scott's Fairy, but first choise is a Labouts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the last couple of weeks Australian fish seem to be everywhere. Seems every WS'er I get a list from has Lineatus,Labouts, and Scotts.

Haggis I bought my supermale Labouti at my local LFS, I paid a stiff price for him at $200.00. But he is well worth it. I tried to purchase one at petsolutions.com for $122.00, when it came in it was like barely 2 inches but it was a male. It died 2 days later. better to go to a local LFS for a labouti than order it over the internet. I agree with just dave, they seem to pop up all over the place certain times of the year but they can be costly. I wanted to get a Male Lineatus wrasse but my LFS get them in all the time. Sometimes like 3 males. He charges $290.00 for them which is very expensive and kind of ridiculous cause he gets them in small volume all the time. Hey just Dave, how much do the lineatus usually go wholesale? just curious?

Haggisman14,

Go to Marineaquatics.net and/or Justrarefish.com

I think you like their prices after seeing the going rate on these fish. Last I checked they had at least one Labout's and there is another shipment on the way. I get the majority of my wrasses from these sites.
