So...if breeding is successful, what do you do with all of the fish?

If I breed a ton of clownfish, what do I do with the livestock? Do I sell them somehow?

I didn't mean to post a stupid question, but I'm just curious how you get rid of the fish.

Do fish stores buy them?

Do you sell to individuals?

How does this work?

YES sell them, to everyone on your list.
if you produce 10-100 month-sell to LFS and friends, 100-500, consider local distributors, and 500-1000s month sell to wholesalers.

you make a bunch of phone calls and setup a pricing strategy, just remember you 'll get more $$ from friends/LFS/fish than distributors or wholesalers.
as example:
Nemo clownfish- $8/friends/LFS,(alot of knocking on doors, driving, and making calls)
$6-local distributors- (one local trip to drop off the box)
$4.50-wholesalers (one phone call and one trip to airport)

this only makes sense if you have volume, if you only produce a few fish/month (like banggais, contact your local reef society and see what your friends will pay

Thats amazing!

In New Zealand, perc of Occ clown is roughly $50. Bangaii retail is $90. You don't wanna know what a Tang costs! :P

Yah, but your (NZ) import reg's are extremelly tough and add quite a bit to the actual landed cost of teh animal. In Australia it takes a $1,200 piece of paper to just clear a shipment. In the states it $50 IIRC. I forgot what NZ pays, but it's quite high IIRC.
