I think this just happened in the last 2 to 3 weeks since it snowed. He couldn't hang the clothes outside so he strained them or left them in my bucket.I think he was washing them in there I don't know. The guy doesn't have a clue as to what is involved with the tank. When I told him he said he would wash out the bucket but he doesn't understand.I didn't bother trying to explain it to him plus I don't know what or if he caused any damage to the tank since my other fish are fine.I was just upset because I asked my wife to tell him not to touch my stuff. He probably didn't realize he was doing anything wrong.Anyways they are both weird and not very bright so what can I do.I can't say much and if I explode it won't be a nice thing to do to them.I let it be.I usually have a bad temper but I controlled myself.Better not to go off on him for something he had no clue about.

I wouldnt have blew up neither. I would just make it very clear to staw away and not touch any of your stuff. Let them know the littlest thing can mean an entire meltdown.
I origanly didn't want to run a skimmer on my tank for the first few months. But water clarity was a cocern so I have a little one up. Ireally wanted to see all the test before I made a big one or bought one. I was thiniking it wouldbe eaier to tell once my tank starts getting stocked. But then afffraid to wait too long and run into trouble.. Chris can you give us some info? Sorry typing while i m holdin my little 1

It airates the water, and has an awesome amount of feather dusters, but the downside is that it can't be cleaned. The baffles make it impossible to clean the skimmer properly. I empty the water and swirl new water around and empty it, and that's the best I can do. Hence my water changes on a regular basis. |

well fish are fine.I ordered 2x #4 korillias from an online dealer that I buy from.He had a good sale and I wanted to try them.If I think they are to bulky I can always use them in my sump or add them to my collection of power heads(I have a good 10)I may get the eco mod for he Mj pumps later.I will see about that.I also bought 2 heaters(250 watts each) ebo jagers.I also ordered new bulbs because mine are a cheap brand.4 x 150 watt 14.5k megachromes and 8x 54 watt T5 guissmen actinic and blue plus.I got half and half.I am nuts I keep spending but the sale was pretty good and stuff was cheaper than the states. It was a boxing day special.

you'll like the Koralias but if you put them on a battery back-up, make sure to test them. One of mine won't run on it. It just kind of rattles. The other one starts fine.

I have 2 of the K4's they are ok pumps. I just want some more flow. I have been thinking of trying to hide one on the bottom about a foot from the side of the tank seeing if the cord will reach under the sand.

I have the tiger shark magnet and I wanted to know where I can get replacement pads for an acrylic tank cheap.I figure I could buy some type of pads and cut them.I wanted something cheap instead of buying the pads from them.My magnet had one pad and it didn't last to long so I figure there must be someone out there who has used something else to replace it.

you can actually use pads from Wal-Mart etc. As long as they are good for acrylic. Many reef keepers use floss or pieces of filter socks too. I get my replacement pads for the Tiger Shark from Custom Aquatic. They also have the felt pads. That's the real problem since it's so hard to get the leftover felt off the damn thing.

those are $9 witch isn't cheap for 12 small pads I see my pad didn't last long so I cut a sponge with works but not for the hard stuff.I can use the scraper for the hard to remove stuff.I thought of using a filter sock.

I would only use things that are specifically made for acrylic, or do extensive testing on scrap acrylic before using it in your tank. You might not notice damage right away, but over time you could see the acrylic getting cloudy. Be CAREFUL!

I use Dobie's, the one Steve mentioned with a link, they work the best for me, no problems with my acrylic
