snails and hermits dying
we've had our tank a little over a year and we're having a lot of issues with snails and hermits lately. i know that about 2 months ago we put in 20 of the larger snails and about 50 hermits. now we have a handful of snails left alive (been pulling out the dead ones) and have only been able to spot about 4 hermits. is there something that could be killing them so fast? our very first snails and hermits lived long happy lives. every now and then i'll see one or two come out at night but that's it. we're also clearing up after a dino problem. any ideas?

Hi,
I would first ensure that your salinity is correct, hopefully you are using a correctly calibrated refractometer or a hydrometer that has been "calibrated" against a correctly calibrated refractometer. Are you acclimating these or just tossing in the tank?? Cheers, |
