New Frag

So I picked this frag up earlier this afternoon. I was at Pet Supplies Plus to buy some cat food when I spotted this piece in their nano tank. Needless to say I was shocked to see a pretty cool looking frag in the store so I had to snatch it up. They rebuilt the salt water section of the store over the summer and they've started to restock the tanks . . . so far so good. I wish them the best of luck and hope things go well for them, and everything stays clean. They even upgraded to RO/DI water, and even it's for sale.

i'm surprised to see a frag on a disc for sale there. i wonder if a local brought it in or something (or the guy who is renovating the saltwater section).

you don't really see frags that look like that come from wholesalers IMO.

unless of course they got a colony in, and the owner took the colony and cut off a little frag to sell.....lol

why not get the blue ric?

I saw that today as well, $40 seemed a bit steep for the blue ricordia...I had to sit there for a few minutes to talk myself out of it though.

I thought the blue ric was $30? Oh well, still a little steep for me, especially since I picked up this frag as well. They had some zoas with potential as well. Most frags were $25.

I specifically asked the SW guy a few months ago and he told me they get the frags in already attached to disks.

Yeah, Pet Supplies Plus is at the intersection of 29N and Greenbrier (just past the big Northrop Grumman complex).

Weston, can you get PM?

i went looking for some mantis snacks this evening (i.e. snails)......$3/each at pet supplies plus.....ouch.

there was an interesting little frag of acan echinata on a disc in that 8g biocube. it looked bleached, but had a few colors in it. they also got in a few fish today, but there were still in bags. think i saw some bangaii's.

went by pet forum too.....they had some cheaper snails. and LOTS of interesting fish they just got in yesterday. some bangaii's, as well as some VERY nice anthias.....but too expensive for my wallet considering the condition of the deathly ill looking tanks.

they had a yellow clown goby labeled as "yellow frog fish".........lol

PSP does have a frog fish in the tank with the yellow tang and lunare wrasse (who they've fed pinky mice to, I was told), he tends to hid underneath the rocks.

Personally, I wouldn't risk adding anything from Pet Forum into my tank. Even buying snails to put in the mantis tank seems risky to me. Do mantis shrimp eat pods, or only larger prey?

just snails.......i've never heard of snails carrying any disease that could kill whatever ate them.
