Re-aquascaped tank with pillars!
Here are some before & after pics of my 210. Aquabucket (Spike) and I drilled 1/2 holes in the LR, then used acrylic rod to stack the rock (like a Ka-Bob). Worked really cool. Same amount of rock in the tank before and after (really). Thanks for the help Spike.

Red plant??
Its a type of red gracilaria according to Spike. The 4 tangs (2 yellow, 1 powder blue, and 1 naso) don't even give it a look. Thought they would chow it down.

Did you affix the acrylic rod to a base to provide stability? I love that look, and may want to duplicate that in my next tank.

You can get the rod at Midland plastics in GB. We did not use prefab rounded rod though. Instead we cut 1/2" strips from a 1/2" thick sheet of plexi. Using a square rod in the round holes was not the best way to go as it was difficult to turn the rocks and get them to face the way we wanted. In the end it worked out fine though.

Acrylic rods?
I have some 1/2 acrylic that I cut 1/2 & 1/2 square strips and we gently pounded them through the drilled holes.

Wow - that's awesome! How'd you drill through the rock? Didn't it tend to bust apart on you?

I like it too. Did you have any ammonia or nitrate spikes after taking the live rock out of the tank to be drilled? How long was the rock out of the water?

I tried the same thing, but it didn't turn out as nice as yours!! Must be the tank size difference!

Midland plastics usually has a good quantity of plastic rod for sale right in the showroom. Its mainly some pretty funky colors but for this application who cares. Looks really good Woody! By the way heard from Paul lately??????

I have about 4-5 feet of 3/8in acrylic rod and a 3/8in masonry bit if anyone is interested I used a few to hold some large rocks off the bottom its a great idea and adds strength to your rockwork, also mounting frags doesn't create a landslide
