what lights?

ok i have a 12g nano that will soon be transfered into a 80g but im going to turn it into a prop tank what lights would you reccomend? i was thinking a 70w mh or something.... ill check one of my lfs' they sell 12g tank with t-5s but there 120 maybe sell this one and buy that one not sure... what would you recommend?

If you're thinking T5's check out the Nova's. They're pretty reasonable, I got a couple for my 36" tank for under $50 shipped with bulbs.

ya but for my nano they dont make any that size the other tank i could get is longer but not as deep/tall

9 watt T5 is 18"s

Did you even look at the lights before posting that they were too wide for what you needed?

i dont know all i know is that the tank with t-5s has better lighting then mine atm i may just got with a standard 10gallon with 150w mh pendant

2 Nova t5's with bulbs (one actinic and one 10k) will be $32 Shipping... roughly $10 So for $42 you can have some good lights... You won't touch a halide setup for anywhere near $42

Do a google search for 't5 nova' first link.... it's that easy.

hmm thanks how many should i use? im thinking maybe even 3 over my nano or if i sell the nano and get a standard 10g it will be even less money

ill probably start with 3 over a 10g aga and slowly move up form there

Well look at it like this....

10gal tank at Walmart: $10
3 18" T5's: $48 + $20+/- shipping (although I think two would be plenty)

ya ill start with 2 and move up if need be although i might go with a 20l but this wont be started for a few months

it would be 56.00 for 3 2 10k and 1 antic with shipping not bad
