I built one of these a while back for my 20g. I didn't use the check valve though, just had an air line there with a twist on-off valve.
My only issue was if I stuck my hands in the tank really quickly, the overflow couldn't handle it and developed an air bubble. After 1 or two times, it would air lock at the top and stop working. Have you noticed this Ryan? The only difference with mine was I just had a pipe going straight up to skim the surface, instead of that doodad you got there. |

I didn't seem to get this problem. when I did a straight stand pipe like the one your talking about I had that problem. hmmm. maybe its the design go figure. this one seems to be able to keep up. also did you make it out of 1 inch?
