favites bubbling?
Hello,
Im extremely new to Favites, have had a colony about the size of a baseball for about 2 months or longer and wandering if it is normal for it to kind of bubble up and then suck into itself? Kinda has me worried. It is at the bottom right corner of a 20 gallon long with 150 watts of 14K HQI halide 6" from the tank. Tank is connected to a 8 gallon sump w/ a Mag 9.5 attached to a SCWD for return. Temp 82-83F SG 1.023 (deep six hydro) Alk 4.0 (but just recently got a handle on and think I am going to be able to keep it at 4.0 by adding 3.5ml of kent 2pt alk pt once in the morning and once in the evening. Before Alk was shifting by .20 pts or more a day). (Salifert Kit) Calcium 410-450ppm (salifert kit) Nitrate 0 Amm 0 Nitrite 0 Phos 0.03 or less (salifert kit) Sorry kinda stressed and at work so if I forget to mention anything forgive us. Thanks in advance for any help. |

When you mean bubbled up, are you talking bubbles like the ones found on this thread?
Coral Polyp Extrusion site Or something totally different?

Yes very similar to that, I will have to watch it a little more carefully, but what it is doing is very similar to this pic:
