is it normal for a torch coral's heads to close up, one or two will shrink up and then they will open back up and the another 1 or 2 will close up and then they will reopen, is this normal?

Yes. Does there appear to be a certain time of day for this occurance? More than likely, this is when it expells it's waist products.
