VLC should play WMV files for you.

MarkS: guess the casuality of using a unix based machine.

Okay, those links you posted worked for me and I'm on a mac... Do you have the latest version of Windows Media Player? If not, go get it and try that. Will the 'revolutions' turn 360 degrees?

I did a quick rendering of the best way I could think to hook up the 8-Way version. Would probably have to make a bracket to hold the wavemaker so it doesn't sway during opperation.

Cool device though. Hope my little rendering helps.

I actually think I'd like this way better. Only problem is there are a lot of elbows so that may affect the flow a little.

CarlS,
In that second rendering you have I count four 90 degree bends (not including the final output).
How much flow loss is there with that?

Heck if I know. I just make pretty pictures. I can't imagine it would be too much loss but it all depends on the pump.

All I do know is that wavemaker is a bit much for my 55g. Hehe

an elbow is about 1 foot of head loss.

Paul,

I know that this is probably asking too much as you already said that you could make a 180-degree model revolution, but would it be possible to make a 90-degree model too? That way it would fit better into the corner of tanks...... Of course there is the flip-side of the coin, that with the full 360-degree rotation in a corner, you could get some more interesting wave-action that would travel down the side of the glass to provide current near the bottom of the tank, but I think that with the flow I wanna put through one of these babys that it might kick-up my sand....

Oh I see! I thought it was a question for some reason!

True. Sad, but true. At least we can take solace in the fact that we use the best of the best!

Hi Mr Max or is it Mad Max

You realise of course I will never be able to watch a Mad Max movie again without thinking of some weird zebra !

anyhow..back to the question.

I have one of my gurus doing some trickery, I will probably be able to produce a 90 degree revolution, it may be closer to 110 degrees but will get the water where you want it, which is off the glass... it will be ready for me in the morning, ie after I get some sleep.. I will let you know how it works.

speaking of kicking up sand, any idea how much a 1Hp Jacuzzi dispenses?

Ahh, excellent!

Very happy about the variations you are working on, I'm waiting for my bonus check to come in - Valentine's day (how sweet - you'd never guess that there are a lot of women in upper management ), and then a 4-way (version 3) with some 1" 90-degree revolutions will be first on my list of toys whenever you can start making them!

As for the picture - I went searching for an avatar and when I came across the rhino/zebra I just about split my side, I had to have it! - and the MadTownMax thing is a relic of when I used to be a big Quake junkie back in college and went around fragging people (not corals) online as MadMax[5]. The Mad Town part is a tribute to UW-Madison, where I went to school. Wow, was that too much information or what!

Cool renderings...wouldnt you want some of the outputs down in the water column, and at the front of the tank???? Otherwise it would probably work like a glorified spray bar.

4 way

Paul,

The 8 way seems a bit much for me. Can you put a diagram up on the 4 way?

well the good news is that the 90 degree unit was a success,so now we can offer both 360, 180, and 90 degree units in both 1/2 and in 3/4. they are all are produced from standard component except the lower can wich is modified to suit your requirements.

the bad news is I have no idea which to produce first...I guess I just better make oll of them

sounds like the nightshift are going to be busy!!

Paul,
Can you make the revolutions with a 45 degree elbow instead of a 90 degree elbow?

Paul,

What about 1" Revolutions?
I'd be interested in possibly trying out 2 1" 90 degree versions.

Thanks!

Yes. $379 does seem very steep.
