Wait for an explosion? fish jumping out, coral growing legs and running...?!?

Kidding, I could have sworn I was a comedian, guess not.

Thanks for the advice...I hear that having a canister filter going to suck out the dying worms is a good idea....

I'll let you all know...remember me as this kid who wasn't afraid to frag....

Suck before and suck after, they just suck all around. I'm a comedian, who's your daddy?

I said wait just to make sure your fish and inverts don't jump out all at once.

I wimped out...

I have too many great corals in that tank to risk anything. I will be migrating them to the show tank slowly. Once my coral is safe elsewhere, I'll zap them.

Are you gonna dip them when you move them, to get rid of any hitch hiker flatworms?

I've did a freshwater dip on all 5 that I moved yesterday. The coral was upset, but bouncing back quite quickly as of this morning.

(referee throws a yellow flag) I've got Rich on drinking a dip with less taste. I am substituting it with some fresh skimmate. Play beer!

A month after using the flatworm exit and buying a mandrin my tank remains infested with tens of thousands of them. The FW exit worked on day one, and as mentioned in my 11/8 post, they were back the next morning. And almost 3x dose didn't touch the remaining worms. Other than turning the rock and glass orange, they don't seem to bother the corals or fish. I hope that they cycle through soon and return to a resonable population. Any ideas? Oh yeh, about 2 weeks after using the Flatworm exit I noticed some RTN (more like - subacute tissue necrosis) in an Acro and a bird's nest. Waters parameters remained normal? Anyway, I given up that fight. The green mandrin doesn't touch them either.

i think my 6 line wrass was picking at them when i had them a long time ago i freshwater dipped every think 2 times when i broke my tank down to move and lost so many corals i cant even think about it it gets me so upset .anyway my friend had the absolute most horibble case i ever saw in person and they just dissapeared over a few months the only thing that different in his tank was the temp droped dramaticly due to winter for a long time and thats about it . i have read that low temps bother them .and for the record i used FWexit im my fuge and it took 2 tries but i got em! my second try was the hole bottle in my 33xl one shot !left for 3 days then reset flow to tank and all ok now .

I have also heard that lower temps stall their reporduction. I've lowered my water to 77. I may try 75.

Thanks for the input.

My stonies tank had a few flatworms after doing a lot of SPS frag collecting (also received red bugs and hydroids ). When I went on vacation I used an automatic feeder which put in much more food each day than I normally feed (even on minimum adjustment). When I came back there were 4.2 gazillion flatworms. I am thinking they thrive on excess food, but it could be a coincidence since I only recently acquired flatworms. I will be trying flatworm exit as soon as I get up the nerve. Maybe some 'fortified' egg nog will help me decide to pull the trigger.

Yeah, it's a little hard to do that with all my prized coral in the same tank. I did a fresh water dip for my birdsnest and it did not like it at all.

I would be more afraid of the FW dip than FWE. I don't think I could do it.

I dipped my best blastomussa, my best rhodactis shrooms, and my open brain. All are fine. I dipped my birdsnest - not so fine. I think that I baked it under the new lights....

NEWBIES - don't bake your corals, acclimate them slowly...
