Watch out for the guys slinging membranes with "Material made by DOW". If it doesn't say DOW Filmtec, it ain't. JMHO, BME, RandalB

I just got a Filterguys, it is a nice unit, and they were very quick when responding to all of my questions.

I agree that the Spectrapure system is really a nice unit. I've been using one for about a year, after replacing my original decade old spectrapure RO/DI.

im in the market for a new RO unit(my first actually), i have heard great things about filterguys on another forum. after going on their site the prices are reasonable.
I've never heard of the DOW filmtec, but will not that at purchase time. Also is RO good enough or does it need to be RO/DI?

RO is likely adequate for some circumstances, but definitely not if you have chloramine in your water supply (ammonia will be a main effluent product) or if the dissolved copper from your pipes is near the high end of households. I discuss what the two parts do here: Reverse Osmosis/Deionization Systems to Purify Tap Water for Reef Aquaria http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-05/rhf/index.htm
