10k MH VS 20K MH (400 watt)

My tank seems to have had more growth with the 10K bulb than the 20k bulbs I am running now. I have two 400 MH's and 4 six foot VHo's that are actinics on a 150 gal. tank. I noticed most of the coral outlets are all using 20k's now and wondered if anyone had any input on why I am seeing this. Its time for new bulbs and was considering a 14k bulb. Any thoughts? Thanks!

youre gonna get better growth on 10Ks because they have a higher PAR. The higher K you go, the lower your PAR will be. Most places use 20K lightsing because it helps pop the colors of the corals more. If you like what your tank looks like, I'd say stay with it...but if you want more blue, there are always many other alternatives. Lots of people on here seem to really like the Reeflux 12K
