your bk 500 sounds cheap...why not 500 ext ?

i would take reddragon over ehiem any day any time..also that the HS with 3 ehiem would use alot more power.

well BK 500 is out of the question my sum won't hold it so now it's H&S A300 VS BK 400 internal

well i would get bk 500 if i can simple cuz the design of BK. However, the HS is more of standard design but with 3 ehiems i believe it pull more air than reddragon, but if you have the budget, why not get the best ?

The H&S have 3 eheim and each of them use 65W that's 195W versus to one red dragon pump which use less than that so in the long run i will save more money on electricity with the BK.

BTW I don't think BK is the best skimmer since they don't have their own skimmer club thread even a remora have their own skimmer club thread

if i remeber right, bk 500 uses 2 pumps, so it's like 78watt x2 which shouldn't be TOO much differen't in power.

BUT the HS with 3 pumps, if i'm right, those 3 pumps are use for recircu, so u need a feed pump or something to feed it.

I would take BK just cuz the design with bubble diffuser and it looks cooler to me. as for HS, " IMO" it's just the standard design with 3 ehiem pumps, and Loc can easily build one of those for way cheaper price.

again, i'm not saying the HS is not good, all the skimmers you listed are good, just that i would choose BK.

i think they don't have a bk forum cuz it's too expansive, and not too many ppl have it.

I like the look of the BK too but it's harder to get parts or support than the H&S. I own 2 H&S skimmer and I can never be more happier. To build one then it will cost me the same as if I buy a second hand used one. The 3 eheim pump will cost me 1050 plus what ever the labor and material add on will be almost the same as if I buy a used H&S skimmer and atleast I have some resale value when I want to sell it.
