" it must be provided with a steady diet of flatworms in order to thrive. "

Do you have flatworms?

Sorry if this comes off as grumpy, but really, given that he's been in the hobby over 5 years and really has shown on the board that he knows his stuff, don't you think it is safe to make the assumption?

I've never seen them in an lfs that I'd buy anything from. Once at Scott's, once or twice at Living Sea at huge prices. But nowhere reliably. I'd have to recommend liveaquaria for something like this. Most lfs don't get them because they are notoriously horrible shippers. But that then means you have to mail order them, and given that they are horrible shippers, well, it's a Catch-22 if ever there was one.

Given the nature of the animals, if I were to trust someone to ship them I'd go high-end like Inland or good reputation like the Drs.

If you do end up getting one Drew, you gotta call me over so I can see that thing feasting! Don't forget to research what happens if they go into a powerhead, etc.

There is a LFS between Elgin and St Charles on Randal Rd that usually has them. If it's the nudi I'm thinking of.

Apologies to all.

FWIW I don't think they cause collateral harm when getting mushed in a powerhead, though I understand they like to inspect powerhead intakes Unless they differ from other nudis in that regard but I haven't read that.

The trickier thing though will be finding ones alive locally ... md fishes, if you do find them anywhere please do update b/c there have been a number of unresolved threads on these animals in the past -- meaning, people hunted for them and didn't find them or find any that survived.

If you are willing to try shipping, Reefer Madness has them on more than a few occasions. Good luck!

Yeah they hide in teh sand if you have a sandbed. A good wrasse will work ... a halichoeres. Can your tank handle one?

halichoeres is a ... uh.... genus? There are many species ... Radiants, Yellow and Green Coris, Melanarus, Mystery/Christmas, and many other halichoeres varieties.
