I run 2 250 watt evc 14k and 1 175 watt evc 14k retros.1 ballast is a cheap one and the other 2 are Icecaps.Nothing special on the reflectors.

20K Helios, PFO ballast, Lumenarc III reflectors.

plenty of blue without any florescent lights added. In fact almost too much blue, but the picture is a bit bluer than real life

Not to highjack, but how long are you guys burning your lights with only running halides? Just curious!

Growth is pretty good on the 20kks. I really don't aim for super fast growth as I like smaller tanks and feel as if they are more personal.

Tom-

I run my halides about 8 hours total. On tanks that have two or more bulbs I stager the photo period per bulb in one hour increments. going from the most east point to west. I don't notice it actually do anything but I'm strange like that LOL..

Check out the gallery and some posts by acropora nut http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/me...&userid=119601

He runs MH only and has some great tank shots in some of his posts. Someone even posted that he is going to be featured as tank of the month.

Here you go for those of you who do not venture to the only real forum on RC - Large Reef tanks where the hard core reefers hang out :-)

Tank is lit by 3X400W Giesman Coral with Icecap ballasts in lumenarcs.

Sanjay, your tank is tremendous. Great open aquascape and coral placement. The corals look nice and healthy with good growth and coloration. Can't wait to see it as it progresses and fills in. Nice to see tanks designed like this and not the typical "Wall of Rock" reef.

Oh, and not all of us have it like you to go to the only real forum on RC. Some of us little fish, nano sized systems compared to the large reef tank people, are doing pretty darn good. LOL. Now get back to work with more bulb reviews for us. Take care. Mile

I just use phoenix 14ks, satisified with the coloration, no real need for actinics...IMHO

CoralVue doesn't make a 400wDE in the Reeflux line . But the 250"s do look the same but not is bright..

Sanjay,
Do you have a thread about how you aquascaped? I'd love to see how you managed to keep those rocks together. Did you use Epoxy (what kind?), acrylic rods? I love the aquascaping. Very nice.

You have tons of corals Sanjay, nice tank.
I get bored in the Large Tank forum, too many 600's in there LOL
Acronut.........I'll take your colors anyday! very nice.
Tom, I run my 1000 watt MH's for 6 hours a day, it's only been a month since they've been on the tank so I don't know about growth yet.

75 gallon

Coralife Calcium Reactor
Auto top off with Kalk
dual 150w HQI Phoenix bulbs

10% water changes weekly
Feeding: Reef Roids, DT Oyster Eggs, and Spectrum food for the fish.

I have also added two Blueline 50/50 96w bulbs to the fixture and it looks even better!
