Question power failure precautions

How long will a battery operated bait bucket bubbler keep my fish alive for in the event of a power failure?
What other ideas other than a generator do you have?

Some people use power converters that hook up to your car battery to power pumps and such.

GENERATOR!!!!!! when i started throwin money in to my reef tank i knew it was a must and it has saved me 3 times in 2 1/2 years it once ran the tank and my beer fridge for 8 days!
