Two thumbs up for iwasaki aqua2 15k bulbs
I just fired up my new x mas gift from the misses (2 iwasaki 150000k's), and I have to say these bulbs rock!!! I am running them on magnetic ballasts, and they are every bit as intense as my hamilton 10000k and aqualine 10000k that I was running prior to these. The color is intensely white with a faint hint of blue, nothing like the usual 14-15k (way too blue, IMO) bulbs that are out there. IMHO, even if u run magnetic ballasts, and not electric, they are by far the best bang for the buck, and they havent even gone through their burn in phase yet. Woot!!!!

my camera suks, pics wouldnt do them justice. I have used hamilton10k, AB10k, cheap ebay bulbs 10k and 14k, ushio10k and xm20k bulbs in the past, and IMO none of those bulbs come close to these. The hamilton and AB 10k's had good intensity, but the color was not nearly as crisp white as the iwasaki's, and the iwasaki's intensity is comperable to those bulbs. Check sanjays reef lighting info pages for the specs.... http://www.reeflightinginfo.arvixe.com/
These iwasaki's put out about 71 ppfd at 15k true color temp on my magnetic ballasts. the hamilton and ab's put out 71 and 73 ppfd at ~ 9k and 10k color temps. these iwasakis will run a much higher ppfd(comperable to a 250watt bulb) with an electronic ballast. The beauty of the bulbs is their ability to match a true 15k color temp(not too blue)with no loss in par. Hope this helps.
