looking for a 65
I've been musing about upgrading my 29 to a 65.....the largest tank I can fit into the little corner I have the 29 in presently.
I'd like a tank that's deeper than the measly 12inches I have now...and it can't be any longer than 36 inches. Height is no issue except as how much of me I want to have to get wet to reach the bottom and how effective the lights that I have will be in a deeper tank. I believe I have 2 options....a 65 at 24inches tall.....or a 56 at 18inches tall. I already have a 36inch coralife power compact fixture with two brand new 96watt bulbs...one 10,000k and a one actinic......it sits over my 30inch long 29 at present...looks pretty silly..... Does anyone have such a tank laying around that's just plain getting in the way and you'd like to get rid of ? I hope I haven't posted this in the wrong place.........I read the "selling/trading" etiquette post and it mostly refers to "selling" an item.... |

Not sure if they still make the old 50 gallon size which was 36 long and 18 deep and taller than the 40 breeder of the same footprint. Its a nice size tank.

I was wondering about a built in overflow....figure that type of setup is easier to take care of than one with an overflow box.....less chance of a spillover I think.........hhmm.......... |

I tried a hang on once, and sure enough murphy's law, went back next day, and the entire sump was on the floor...
I love my built in...

I had a hang on overflow for a few years. Never spilled a drop, atleast not because of the overflow box! So I would not say that they will always be a problem with overflowing your tank (or sump). My biggest complaint was that it tends to get loud with gurlgling every once in a while. That said, I run a built in now as well.
