are u talking about the min, or max ? min, i would do at least once a day to keep it healthy , but if you have enough algae , once every 2-3 day can keep it alive. Max, you can just keep feed till it doesnt want to eat anymore.

ooo... max? that is alot of nori!

i think i woudl try to feel every day... i usually feed my fish everyday... if i feel bored, stressed, or even alittle gracious... i feed twice a day... afternoon is my usual... night is the bonus feeding... i have had a sailfin and it ate just like my others...

i think algae in the tank is also a big help... if there is nothign to graze on, then it will be hungry all the time...

I make sure I have a clip of nori for my sailfin to forage on everyday. A plump tang is usally a healthy tang.

I was wondering the same thing as faded 1004, how big is the tank that has the tang?

To answer your question, tangs diet needs at least half algae (dried nori) and NLS Thera-A pellets are good. Tangs will eat most anything, but doesn't mean they should. Make sure they get plenty of algae in their diet. Also good to supplement with garlic juice.

normal feeding woudl be some good round diet...

i personally feed my tangs... home made food mix (shrimp, baby clams, mussles, spirulina, cuttle fish, cylopeeze, and scallops) and half green nori....

lately i have been feeding spectrum small pellets on auto feeder as i am trying to feed more often but small portions...

i have 4 smaller tangs, and i feed about 1 piece that is 2" x 4" at each day at the moment...

if possible just feed so everyone can get some food... by then some will be full and the rest can learn to be faster... hahaha...

i think most will say variety is best... so may be get a package of green and some red? you might find that your fish will like one more then the other... adn then stick with that... my fish like both equally... i switch every day...

some people recommend romaine lettuce.
i don't see the harm in it as long as it is rinsed very well from pesticides. romaine lettuce, sheets of nori, spirulina, and formula 2 would be the way to go.

All my tangs devour the Julian Sprungs Purple Algae.

I've done the "Pepsi Challenge", put Purple and Green on a clip and they move the green out of the way to get to the purple stuff. Marine Depot carries it.
