Moon Coral Insights?

Anyone have any experience with Moon Corals? Lighting needs, feeding needs, etc. I have been debating picking one up at the LFS but haven't been able to find out too much about them. Thanks in advance!

If you are referring to Favia or Favites (two most commonly called moon corals), they can tolerate a variety of lighting, from average VHO lighting to 400w MH (gotta keep em low in the halide tank).

They do fee, but are also photosynthetic. About 1-2 hours after lights out if you look in the tank you will see feeding tenticles (also possibly see them when you feed the tank).

All in all, a pretty easy coral to keep. Just make sure you keep your calcium up...
