Haven't done it yet. Have been lazy. But definitely a chore for this weekend.

not sure sure if you already mentioned it, i only skimmed through the thread... but how do you intend to attach the frags? i just propigated a toadstool recently. i cut off a head a couple weeks ago from my friend's three headed monster toadstool. i cut it up higher to the crown a few days ago and quartered the crown. today, i attached the four pieces of the crown and the left over from the base. the base had attached to some rubble so i just glued it on to a rock but the crown pieces did not attach to any rubble. i sewed them onto a rock then put some super glue under them. the opened up later the same day.

You used super glue? I tried that with the stalk from the mother and the stalk kinda just dissolved and it never attached to anything again. I was going to try the rubble method with the frags and then I was going to cut a bit off the stalk from the mother and try veiling that to rock again since it never took the first time I tried it - maybe I'll try sewing it. I'm a patient person.

the glue's just a lil bit extra added. sewing has been nice to me when it comes to leathers.

My thanks to Frick-n-Frags for making this a calm experience for both the leather and myself.

Here are the end results:

Leather with frags partially cut out. When finished fragging there will be a circle of the original leather left on the stem.

Frags

Frags in Rubble

Frags in Veiled Cup

i just posted mine on my local board yesterday. check it out for a pic. i was surprised at how fast they attached. i don't reccomend the rubble method at all. i had mine in rubble for a couple weeks and none of them attached. as soon as i tied 'em on to the rocks they began attaching in just days.

What did you tie them with? Did you suture them?

I'm confused about the suturing process. Did you just pull the string/nylon thru the creature, and then tie that to the rock?

I tried jabbing through it iwth a toothpick to fasten to the rock, but the stump just kind of dissolved.

Do you leave the string there or do you remove after it has tacken to the rock?
