We always go camping in June Lakes during the summer. Maybe a frag trade this summer?

I always wondered what the effects of 7,000 foot elevation would be on a skimmer. I have pondered the thought while visiting Convict lake in the Summer, how many reef tanks do you guess are in the area? [Inyo / Antelope valley]
Cultured is the key word. "Maricultured" is farmed in a "Mari"....marine/ocean enviroment. "Aquacultured" should be used for cuttings grown out in an "aqua" ....aquarium "Tank raised" or captive raised should mean the item is 100 percent raised/grown in a captive tank. |

Every coral originally was taken from the ocean. I love the way GARF says that they don't have to take anything from the ocean because it is aquacultured. Well somebody did! Yes, they are sustaining a population of orgainisms and encouraging them to reproduce, but they were originally taken from the ocean and are no longer part of it and neither are their offspring.
This is, afterall, basically just semantics. We have justified to ourselves that taking a certain number of of individuals out of their natural environment is okay as long as we keep them alive and attempt to create others from them. All of this is done even though we never really intend on returning them to the ocean and their natural environment. |
