FS: approx. 100 head sun coral for $45, Irvine

I'm getting lazy with feeding this thing. It has about 100 heads, small and large, on a 3 x 3 inch square rock. Once in a while it comes out when the lights are on, but most of the time it comes out at night. $45 picked up in Irvine. Thanks!

Rich

Not really. I feed my tank some DTS phytoplankton which seems to work. Once in a while I shoot a bunch of mysis at it, LOVES IT! It's not hard at all.

There are so many smaller heads. For the bigger heads I'd say at least 50.

That's the only one I have. Keep in mind that it typically looks like the first picture. The second picture is when I caught the polyps open while my lights were on. It seems to open up when I feed my fish, but is always fully open at night.

That is a nice piece of coral, does it take alot of attention to keep alive? from the looks of things you must feed it a couple times a week for it to have multiplied that much

i wonder if they sting other corals?

marinedepot says, "The Orange Sun Coral is a very delicate coral. The branches can be very thin and break easily and the orange skin on the polyp easily damaged with excessive handling. This coral is labor intensive as it requires having each individual polyp fed daily. It is not photosynthetic and prefers to be kept in a cave, or rocky overhang than out in the light."

i think they just say to feed it all because that is what all live things need, food all the time... hahahahha... i am sure if you feed your tank invert food, it will be fine...

dude, i soooooo want one now! hahahah... i am in the hunt for 2 small pieces... i got 2 small caves!

good luck wiht the sale! bump!

I'm interested too; What time are you free tomorrow? Are you even free tomorrow? The one i have doesn't open at all. It is kind of annoying; I've been trying to feed but doesnt open to pull in food;
