Live rock prices?
At a LFS, not on the internet, how much would you pay for rock like this. Fully cured, not in bulk, lots of purple coraline, branch rock. Pic:

those pieces way about 3 lbs, but I'm saying generally not for them specifically, how much would you pay per pound for stuff that looks similar to this?

It would probably sell for between $6 and $8 per pound.

I think price depends on how far your LFS is from the pacific. People in LA pay less than people in Texas, people in Texas pay less than people in NY (for Fiji anyhow) MY lfs sells all live rock for 4.75 and offers a discount to our local marine aquarium society on top of that, they sell Kalini, Fiji Premium, Tonga.
Oh, and I am in Texas. |

It's 6$ a pound here in Bloomington IL. But some of these places have the worst looking live rock I've ever seen. Looks more dead than anything else.

This rock at my LFS was $10/ lb. I have about 15-20 pounds in my 55g tank now along with 35-40 pounds fiji and lalo. $10 per pound is just way to much even for this marshall island rock, and in pennsylvania. I wouldn't have bought it, but I didn't pay for it myself. For any other rock I'm going to go through the internet. I can get the same branch rock without any coralline for $4.99/lb. I bought about 20 pounds of this and a little with the coralline for my new 75 gallon tank. I'm hoping the coralline will spread like it has begun in my 55 gal. I use Oceanic salt, yes I have heard all the gossip, which gives me a very high amount of calcium which seems to grow more coralline. I add limewater and buffers everyday to keep the alk up at about 18dKH, and calcium level of 520.

I live in RI and my LFS sells the figi rock for 4.99lb and 5.99 for Tonga branch rock. If I want to drive alittle (70 miles) then I can get the figi for 3.50lb. Its worth it for large quanities but its a drive.

here in ohio we range at LFS from 4.99 to 8.99 depending on base rock or fiji rock....never really see much life on the stuff around here. i would order anything. however i am to the point where the only rock i buy better have a coral attached.

Hell you can but it in Los Angles for $110/45lb box. Most lFS charge 4-7 in San Diego but I wont pay that for crap. Why wouldn't you order it for $163 from Reefermadness.us shipped for a 45lb box of fiji. $10+ a lb is horrible, especially for bad rock.

The LFS around here sell their LR for $7/lb. I bought all mine at the same time, so the kid at the LFS cut me break and gave 60 lbs for $5/lb.

Like that, maybe $8-10 per pound if it's real nice in CA. Usually more $6-7, but little to no coraline or anything.
