How to feed Ocean Nutrition Brine Shrimp Plus

Hi. Does anyone use Ocean Nutrition's Brine Shrimp Plus (frozen cubes)? I bought some this week on the advise of my LFS, but it seems to stay in too large of chunks after thawing it out. I haven't tried letting it thaw in tank water. I thaw it on a plate, then soak up the excess juice with a papertowel. Fish don't seem to like it, seems to big for them. They do love frozen Hikari enriched brine and mysis, but not this Brine Shrimp Plus and also, I bought some frozen Hikari Plankton and none of them like that.

Thanks, Pam

I generally thaw it in some RO water (but tank water would work as well). Then I use a knife to break it up/blender it into smaller chunks. My shrimp love it, but my tang doesn't eat it.

I also soak mine in selcon (vitamins) and garlic guard. They go nuts for things soaked in garlic.

You can mush it with a fork also.

I defrost it in a small bowl of tank water, then crush is up into smaller pieces with my fingers. My fish love it.

I'll try feeding it to them a few more times. I tried a knife which didn't work so well. Maybe fingers might work. Is the Brine Shrimp Plus considered a lot more nutritious than the Enriched Brine from Hikari? My fish love that, but everyone says brine has almost no nutrition.
Thanks!
Pam

I thaw it out in a small strainer under hot tap water, then run it under RO water. I feed it to my MJmod, which chops it up nicely.
