How do I remove a wire from a VHO endcap?

I am making a new light rack and want to see if i can salvage my endcaps. So how do I remove the wire you shove into the endcap? I can't imagine once you but a wire into the cap it is a one time deal. Anyone have any good advice?

Thanks,
Chris

I would get something and release the pressure inside where there is contact with the wire. Like a really small screwdriver or thin metal. If it is able to be taken apart then you can remove the back cover and remove it that way depending on the endcap. Hopefully I didn't confuse you.

So after I unplug it of course, take the bulb out, then the little plastic squarish cap. Then the gold metal pieces will be exposed. As I see it, the wire comes in the bottom and then I maybe lift it up to relieve the pressure?

There should be a piece of copper in the shape of a V that applies pressure to the wire going in. If you can get something in the same hole as the wire to compress the V, the wire should come out. If you tale the back off you are correct.

Take a small screwdriver like boydx6 said and stick it in the small circular hole (not the long skinny one) in the end cap. Move the copper piece to the side that wedges the wire in....it should pop right out if you tug a bit on it.

You can kind of see the copper piece in the small circle hole in the picture that needs to be pushed aside...
