He was about 16 inches from had to tail!!! They are one of my favorite surgeonfish for sure!!!

what kind, and how big was that first tang. we saw some of those in maui and I swear they were over 18inches. HUGE!!! But alas "Mr. Fishtank" as my wife called me sarcasticly, didn't know what they were.

He is called a yellowfin Surgeonfish - or some call it an eyestripe!!! He was about 22 inches....there are a bunch of them and they get over 2ft long....

Thanks Jason....I will say that the Naso, "Orange Spine" is one of my favorite Surgeon fish... They get huge!!! They don't seem to be intimidated when you approach them either....
We could always use more scuba divers for sure!!!

hey ron did you ever go to owahu and dive? I was stationed there for 3 years and thats were I learned to dive they have awsome sites there in Hawaii I would love to go back.

No...I haven't dove off Oahu...but would love to!!! I hope to get back there this year!!! I want to do some dives off Kauai also!!! Hope I can have a few days in each location!!!
